Privacy Policy
On the Dot ("the app") is a timing game for iPhone, iPad and Android made by Phil Starkovich and published on Google Play by Claim 727, LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and the choices you have. If you have a question, email support@getonthedot.com.
The short version
- We don't run our own servers, and the app has no accounts or sign-up.
- Your game progress and settings stay on your device.
- Free players see ads from Google AdMob. Google may collect device and usage data to show and measure ads. Personalized ads are only shown if you allow them.
- Purchases go through Apple or Google Play and are verified by RevenueCat.
- Leaderboards and achievements are handled by Apple Game Center on iPhone and iPad, and by Google Play Games on Android.
Information stored on your device
The app saves your results, best times, unlocked levels, weekly points, earned video attempts and settings (music, sound, haptics) on your device. We don't receive this information. You can erase it with Settings → Clear all data in the app, or by deleting the app.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
If you haven't bought Full Access, the app shows ads using the Google Mobile Ads SDK. Google may collect and process:
- Device identifiers: on iPhone and iPad, the advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you allow tracking, and the identifier for vendors (IDFV); on Android, the Android advertising ID and app set ID.
- Usage and advertising data: which ads were shown or tapped, app interactions and launches.
- Approximate location worked out from your IP address.
- Diagnostics such as crash and performance data from the SDK.
This data is used to serve ads, measure them, limit how often you see them, and prevent fraud. If you allow tracking, it may also be used to personalize ads across other companies' apps and websites. To learn more, see how Google uses information from apps that use its services and Google's Privacy Policy.
Your ad choices
- Tracking (iPhone and iPad): the app asks permission before using the advertising identifier. You can change this any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. If you decline, you'll still see ads, but they won't be personalized using cross-app tracking.
- Advertising ID (Android): you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads (on some devices, Settings → Google → Ads).
- EEA, UK and Switzerland: you'll be asked for consent through Google's consent message. You can review or change your choices in the app under Settings → Privacy Choices.
- No ads: buying Full Access turns ads off completely.
Purchases (Apple, Google Play and RevenueCat)
Full Access is a one-time in-app purchase processed by Apple on iPhone and iPad, and by Google Play on Android. We never see your payment details. To unlock content and restore purchases, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives your App Store or Google Play transaction information (purchase history), an anonymous app-specific user ID, and basic device and app information (such as operating system version, app version and country/storefront). See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
Game Center (Apple)
If you're signed in to Game Center, the app sends your scores and achievements to Apple's Game Center so they show up on leaderboards. Your Game Center nickname and scores may be visible to other players. Game Center is run by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy, and you can manage it in iOS Settings.
Google Play Games (Android)
On Android, if you're signed in to Google Play Games, the app sends your scores and achievements to Google so they show up on leaderboards. Your Play Games profile name, avatar and scores may be visible to other players. Play Games is run by Google under Google's Privacy Policy, and you can manage your profile and its visibility in the Google Play Games app.
What we don't do
- We don't sell personal information.
- We don't collect your name, email, contacts, photos or precise location.
- We don't use your data to identify you.
Children
On the Dot is a general-audience game and isn't directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we'll help remove it.
Keeping and deleting data
On-device data stays until you clear it or delete the app. Google and RevenueCat keep data according to their own policies. To ask us to delete the purchase record RevenueCat holds for your anonymous user ID, or to exercise other rights you may have under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA (access, correction, deletion, objection), email support@getonthedot.com. You can also ask Google directly about data it holds.
Security
Data sent by the app's third-party services is encrypted in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we only use reputable providers.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the effective date above. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
